Overview

The stay

Running since 2014, Gemur Holidays sets three-layer insulated Swiss luxury cottage tents on the Bhaga at Gemur, just before Jispa. Each tent has an attached bath and a private balcony over the river, a king bed and a heavy 400-GSM quilt for the cold nights.

Beyond the tents there's a full restaurant, evening bonfires and stargazing, and activities from short treks to archery and river rappelling — a comfortable, active base on the Leh road.

At ~3,340 m, the first night can feel the altitude — go easy.
Nights are cold; the quilts and blankets are there for a reason.
